Turfway cancels Friday card

Racing expected to resume Saturday, Sunday, Monday

FLORENCE, KY . . . January 15, 2009 . . . With windchill temperatures again expected to plunge well below zero, Turfway Park has canceled live racing for Friday, January 16. The track will remain open for simulcasting, with gates opening at 11:15am.


Dollar Friday deals—$1 draft beer, hot dogs, and bets—still will be available beginning at 5:30pm, but a concert by rock band After Midnight originally scheduled for Friday will be rescheduled. The Homestretch restaurant and bar will be open according to its regular simulcast schedule, but Friday’s usual Prime Rib Buffet will not be available.

Live racing is expected to resume Saturday and Sunday as temperatures moderate. As already scheduled, the track also will be open for live racing on Monday, January 19. First post all three days is 1:10pm.
