Turfway Returns to Saturday Afternoon Post

FLORENCE, Ky., Jan. 11, 2012 – Effective this Saturday, Jan. 14, Turfway Park will change its Saturday post time back to 1:10 p.m.

The move ends a nearly year-long experiment using a 5:30 p.m. post to build a date night variation of the track’s highly successful Dollar Friday promotions.


“The evening post did help us reach a different group of customers, but with the most popular import signals clustered in the afternoon hours, the later post had an adverse effect on our in-state outlets and our national simulcast business,” said Turfway Park president and CEO Robert N. Elliston. “We have always been willing to try new approaches and we will continue to do look for ways to shake up tradition and create new business.”

First post on Thursday and Friday will continue at 5:30 p.m. First post on Sunday will remain at 1:10 p.m.
