Turfway’s Top of the Park to reopen for Saturday night racing
FLORENCE, Ky., Feb. 2, 2011 – When Turfway Park shifts to night racing on Saturdays beginning Feb. 5, guests also will find a return to fine dining at Top of the Park, the track’s fifth floor tiered dining area with a sweeping view of the track.
Executive Chef Peter Haubi, Swiss-born and trained in Europe, will present his Continental Gourmet Dinner Buffet and Sweets Table each Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. through the end of the meet, except March 26, when the track returns to afternoon racing for the Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes.
Billed as Saturday Night Lights, Saturday nights also will offer a $19.95 dinner buffet and regular menu service in the Homestretch restaurant and bar on the first floor. At concession stands, specials include $2.50 domestic bottled beer and $3.50 call drinks.
Both Top of the Park and the Homestretch are smoke-free.
Dinner reservations are recommended and available by calling (859) 371-0200 or (800) 733-0200).
Live music has been added to the Saturday line-up as well, with Lucid Grey providing the music this Saturday and My Sister Sarah, My Girl Friday, and DV8 scheduled to appear on subsequent Saturdays in February.
First post on Saturdays is now 5:30 p.m.
In recent years, dining on the fifth floor had been limited to private parties and major race days.
