‘TwinSpires.Com Day at Keeneland’ Draws Estimated 750 Players, Guests to Historic Lexington Track

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ca. (April 17, 2009) – An estimated 750 people – including 450 account players who are account holders of TwinSpires.com – enjoyed a spectacular day of live racing at Keeneland on Thursday, April 16 at the invitation of TwinSpires.com, the official advance deposit wagering service for Churchill Downs Incorporated (NASDAQ: CHDN), and the historic Lexington, Ky. track.

“TwinSpires.com Day at Keeneland” offered TwinSpires.com advance deposit wagering fans throughout the Blue Grass region an invitation to enjoy the day of live racing as guests of Keeneland and TwinSpires.com. Invitations were extended to TwinSpires.com online players who lived within 75 miles of Keeneland and had made a wager during the past year.

The 450 players who accepted and estimated 300 guests who accompanied them to Keeneland enjoyed special seating, free food and beverage and an official Kentucky Derby 135 hat. They also participated in drawings throughout the day for prizes that ranged from Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks tickets to gift bags of officially licensed Keeneland collectibles and other merchandise. Those players also received a package of handicapping information from Brisnet.com.

“We are pleased by the strong response to the ‘TwinSpires.com Day at Keeneland’ and by the fact that several of the account-holders and guests in attendance noted that they were first-time visitors to Keeneland,” said Keeneland President Nick Nicholson. “We’re pleased that Keeneland races are offered on TwinSpires.com and this joint event was a wonderful first step for this concept and offers the opportunity for other imaginative efforts to bring new fans to racing and build stronger bonds between tracks like Keeneland and the providers that serve our growing advance deposit wagering markets.”

“We are gratified by the large and enthusiastic turnout by our TwinSpires.com players for this special day of racing at Keeneland, one of America’s greatest tracks,” said Jeremy Clemons, vice president of Marketing for TwinSpires.com. “This is a great example of an advance deposit wagering outlet and a racetrack working together to the benefit of both. TwinSpires.com, Keeneland and other track are working toward the same goals: to make the racing and wagering experience comfortable, convenient and successful for our players, and to bring new fans to our sport. Those who accepted our joint invitation to visit Keeneland enjoyed an unforgettable day and we look forward to working with Keeneland and other great tracks on this and other efforts in the future.”

“TwinSpires.com Day at Keeneland” marked the second time that TwinSpires.com had teamed with a track to bring regional account holders to the track for a day of live racing. A similar event was held at Fair Grounds on March 28.
