TWO CONTESTANTS STILL ALIVE IN SHOW ME THE MONEY
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (December 15, 2011)—Hugo Avila of Los Angeles and owner-breeder Diane Fradkin of Santa Ana remained alive in the $2,500 winner-take-all Show Me The Money contest with three days remaining in the Autumn meet at Hollywood Park.
The free challenge, which began November 12 with 2,719 players, requires a participant to choose one horse each racing day – in six designated races - at least 10 minutes prior to the first race. The selected horse must finish first, second or third for a player to continue.
Avila’s selection Thursday was Liberal Arts, an easy winner as the 1-5 favorite in the fourth race. Fradkin’s pick was Jim’s Decision, runner-up as the 2-5 choice in the second.
If neither player misses Friday, Saturday or closing day Sunday, the contest will be decided by the first tiebreaker, which is the person with the most winners. Through Thursday, Avila has 10 wins, two more than Fradkin.
The next tiebreaker is most second place finishes, a category Fradkin leads 6-5.
