UNDEFEATED FILLY HIGH RESOLVE RACES WEDNESDAY AT THE FAIR

SAN MATEO -- The undefeated filly High Resolve will seek her sixth career victory Wednesday when she competes in the second race at the San Mateo County Fair at Bay Meadows.

Post time is 1:45 p.m. for Wednesday's card, which kicks off the final five days of horse racing at historic Bay Meadows. The track, which opened in 1934, will close for good following Sunday's program and the property will be redeveloped.

Post time Wednesday's second race, a six-furlong allowance dash in which High Resolve will face five rivals, is 2:15 p.m. High Resolve will break from post position one and be ridden by Kyle Kaenel, who won four races last Sunday at the fair.

High Resolve, a Florida-bred daughter of Put It Back, is trained by Greg Gilchrist and owned by the Estate of Harry J. Aleo. High Resolve has scored three of her five wins at Bay Meadows and she captured the six-furlong Princess Stakes at the track on Feb. 9.

High Resolve will be making her first start since the Princess Stakes when she goes to the starting gate Wednesday. A three-time stakes winner, High Resolve has earned $187,100.

Among the horses High Resolve will battle Wednesday is her stablemate, Victorina, a 5-year-old mare who has won 10 of her 19 career starts and $505,633. Also owned by the Estate of Harry J. Aleo and trained by Gilchrist, Victorina is a multiple stakes-winner.

FAIR RACING NOTES: Trainer John F. Martin will be shooting for a milestone victory Wednesday at the fair. Martin enters the program with 999 victories and has two chances at win No. 1,000 as he'll saddle Storming Slew in the third race and Buck Tuddy Buck in the seventh....Wednesday's card features a Pick Six carryover of $30,643.
