VETERAN GONZALEZ RIDES THREE WINNERS AT GGF

ALBANY -- Veteran jockey Roberto Gonzalez, age 54, showed the youngsters how it's done Wednesday at Golden Gate Fields when he rode three winners.

Gonzalez scored his first two wins in back-to-back races, taking the fourth race with Dance to My Lou ($10.00) and the fifth with Just a Twitt ($13.20). After sitting out the sixth race, Gonzalez won the featured seventh race with A Cat Named Snipe ($4.60).

Wednesday's hat trick boosted Gonzalez' career victory total to 4,302. Gonzalez recorded his first win on May 2, 1975, at Hollywood Park aboard a horse named Sawtooth.

Gonzalez, third in the jockey standings with 15 victories through 18 days of racing at the 2008 fall meeting, has three scheduled mounts on Thursday's eight-race program at Golden Gate Fields. Post time is 12:45 p.m.
