Walklikeanegyptian (IRE) Tops Sunday Session At $220,000
Lexington, Ky. (November 9, 2008)—A 5-year-old broodmare, who is pregnant to Perfect Soul (IRE), brought a top price of $220,000 during Sunday’s session of Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale.
Arch Bloodstock LLC bought Walklikeanegyptian (IRE), a graded stakes- placed winner of $93,241, from Glen Hill Farm. Walklikeanegyptian is by Danehill out of Ahdaab and a half-sister to stakes winner Callwood Dancer (IRE).
Three Chimneys Sales, as agent for Padua Stables, sold Blink Twice, who is the dam of stakes-placed Capricious. Blink Twice is pregnant to Grand Slam.
During Sunday’s session, Keeneland sold 240 horses for $7,417,500, an average of $30,906 and a median of $25,000. Last year, 257 horses brought $13,819,200. The average was $53,771 and the median was $40,000.
Through seven days of the 15-day sale, 1,397 horses have been sold for $162,319,700, an average of $116,192 and a median of $60,000. At this point in the sale a year ago, 1,629 horses had been sold for $302,303,900. The average was $185,576 and the median was $87,000.
Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale continues through Monday, November 17. Sessions begin at 10 a.m. daily.
