Borderland Derby winner Isn’t He Clever Transferred to Asmussen, Derby 138 Still Under Consideration


LOUISVILLE, KY (April 22, 2012) – Isn’t He Clever, winner of the Borderland Derby and eighth in the $1 million Arkansas Derby (Grade I) in his most recent start, has been transferred to trainer Steve Amussen, according to owner J. Kirk Robison, and a start in the $2 million Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (GI) is still under consideration.

Isn’t He Clever had been under the care of Henry Dominguez. A 3-year-old gelded son of Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Isn’t He Clever arrived at Asmussen’s barn at Churchill Downs on April 17.
