Calder Barn Notes: 82 2-Year-Olds Nominate to Juvenile Showcase Stakes

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (August 18, 2012) – Nominations for four of the six stakes to be presented as part of the annual Juvenile Showcase program at Calder Casino & Race Course on August 25 were released earlier in the week with 82 individual 2-year-olds nominated to run.

The $75,000 Catcharisingstar attracted the most attention of the four races as 31 2-year-old fillies were made eligible for the five-furlong grassy dash. The $75,000 Lindsay Frolic Stakes, for juvenile fillies at one mile on the main track, drew 26 nominees, while the five-furlong $75,000 Fasig-Tipton Turf Dash had 20 nominees and 18 horses nominated to the one-mile $75,000 Seacliff Stakes.
