Woodhaven Quotes

David Donk, winning trainer of Vision Perfect (No. 4): "It was a very gutsy, game performance off the layoff. He didn't have to win, but we're pretty pleased that he did. He's matured and filled out a bit [since his 2-year-old season], which is nice to see. It's been a little bit of a tough spring because of the weather, but he's trained well. The horses that came up from Florida probably had a little bit of an edge, but kudos to [Vision Perfect]."

Distaff (G2) Quotes

Linda Rice, winning trainer of La Verdad (No. 4): "I wasn't happy when I saw [Aireofdistinction] coming after her early, and they were going pretty fast. I was a little concerned that was going to make it a real test on her fitness, but her ability is the key. She's got a lot of talent and is able to overcome that. I can only hope that she comes back and races as well as she has the last year and a half for us. I had her in training for quite a long time without a vacation, and after the Fall Highweight I decided to turn her out for a couple months; she deserved it."

Carter (G1) Quotes

Rudy Rodriguez, winning trainer of Dads Caps (No. 1): "Very nice day. I said to Jose, don't go crazy. It worked out perfect. To win this race back-to-back is amazing. This is a good horse to be around, and we've had him since he was a baby, so it's special. A day like this means a lot to all of us; you work hard, and it pays off. Hopefully, it can just keep coming."

Wood Memorial (G1) Quotes

Kiaran McLaughlin, winning trainer of Frosted (No. 4): "This has been a top, special project for my team, my brother, the grooms, etc. We know he has a ton of ability and the last race really made us scratch our heads, asking 'why?' He would go to the lead and throw his head up and stop. We did everything we could to change everything we possibly could that we thought went wrong, including the jockey just because we were changing everything. It all worked out and it's just a special win for our team and Godolphin because he's a homebred [by Tapit] and it enhances his resume by winning a race like the Wood."

Bay Shore (G3) Quotes

Cherie DeVaux, assistant to winning trainer Chad Brown, of March (No. 5): "It was a little nerve-wracking [waiting on the inquiry], but I feel the stewards made the right decision. I think he ran really well. After being in the Withers, Chad [Brown] said maybe try him as a come-from-behind sprinter. It was definitely the right call. He sat nicely in the back and came with a really good kick. We'll see how he comes out of it and go from there."

Gazelle (G2) Quotes

Rudy Rodriguez, winning Trainer of Condo Commando (No. 5): "She broke well today. I was very happy. I told Joel [Rosario] if she broke good, just take it from there. She's a very nice filly. I don't know if [we will have the favorite for the Kentucky Oaks], but hopefully we can make it. It's still a long way to go. Hopefully, she stays sound and we take it from there. That's our goal."
