Queens County Quotes

Mike Repole, winning owner of Micromanage (No. 1a) and third-place finisher Misconnect (No. 1): "It's like being a 13-year-old kid again. I love it here at Aqueduct. We really didn't want to run the two horses together, we kind of wanted to split them up. [But] they were both training really, really well, and if they're both going to stay here, this is the spot. I thought Misconnect ran really, really well and Micro, getting off the turf and back to the dirt, at a mile-and-an-eighth, is really, really good. Manny Franco rode him very well for the first time he rode him. They'll stay in New York. There's another stakes on January 19 [$100,000 Jazil]. They'll get a little bit of a break over the holidays and bring them back in January."

Fall Highweight Handicap (G3) Quotes

David Jacobson, winning trainer of Salutos Amigos (No. 1): "I wasn't concerned at all with the wet track, because he was 3-for-3 in the mud. I wanted it to keep raining all day - I was doing a rain dance. Cornelio did an amazing job as usual. We'll take a look at the Gravesend [Dec. 26] next, but it's up to the horse to let us know."

Red Smith Handicap (G3) Quotes

Kathryn Sullivan, assistant to winning trainer Mark Casse of Dynamic Sky (No. 3): "[The Canadian International] was a really tough race, obviously. He got a great trip today, and everything seemed to come together for him. He didn't have the best start in the [Canadian] International, which put him behind in the race, but today everything went exactly as planned. Cornelio took him off the pace a little bit and had him sitting perfectly. When that hole opened, he just went right on through and had a ton of horse. It was perfect; you couldn't ask for a better trip."

Long Island Handicap (G3) Quotes

Christophe Clement, winning trainer of Aigue Marine (No. 1): "She went a bit off form last time, otherwise she's always been a nice filly. We've tried to win the Long Island with her for a few years; it's wonderful she's done it this year. She's going to go back to Europe and become a broodmare now. The trip [John Velazquez] gave her was between superb and unbelievable; that's what you call 'saving ground.'"
