ITSMYLUCKDAY DEPARTS FOR CHURCHILL DOWNS


MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 26, 2013) – Trilogy Stable and Laurie Plesa’s Itsmyluckyday, winner of the Foolish Pleasure Stakes and the Fasig-Tipton Dash at Calder Casino & Race Course in 2012 and a leading contender for this year’s Kentucky Derby off his second-place finish in the Grade 1 Florida Derby, cleared the Calder stable gate at approximately 5 p.m. Friday aboard a Brook Ledge van bound for Louisville where he will start in this year’s ‘Run for the Roses’ on May 4.

SMILE SPRINT NAMED TO BREEDERS’ CUP CHALLENGE SERIES

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 11, 2013) – The Breeders' Cup has announced the 65 races included as part of the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Challenge series, with Calder Casino & Race Course to host one event, the Grade 2 Smile Sprint Handicap on July 6. With Breeders’ Cup Challenge status, the Smile Sprint, one of the main events on the annual Summit of Speed program at Calder, will serve as a ‘win and you’re in’ race for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint, part of the two-day World Championships at Santa Anita in November.
