Abu Alemarat the star at Abu Dhabi
Last season’s Abu Dhabi Triple Crown winner Abu Alemarat made a winning return to action on Sunday evening when landing the featured 2200m conditions race at the Capital’s third meeting of the season.
Now trained by Englishman Rod Simpson, the four-year-old, who carries the colours of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was sent to the front at the two furlong pole by Daragh O’Donohoe and never looked likely to be caught.

Triple Crown winner returns to action
Sunday’s third meeting of the Abu Dhabi season, a six race all Purebred Arabian card, features a fascinating 2200m conditions race kindly sponsored by Hyrda Properties and for which nine have been declared.
Last year’s Abu Dhabi Triple Crown winner Abu Alemarat makes his eagerly anticipated return in the race having won his last four starts.

Selvaratnam in treble form
Jebel Ali’s resident trainer Dhruba Selvaratnam saddled half of the six winners as racing returned to his local course on Friday afternoon with stable jockey William Buick partnering two of the winners.
However, it was Rashed Bouresly’s Star Crowned who won the afternoon’s featured 1000m sprint under Tadhg O’Shea, denying stable companion League Champion.

Star to be Crowned at Jebel Ali
Racing returns to Jebel Ali on Friday with a six race card highlighted by a cracking sprint conditions race over the minimum 1000m.
Twelve have been declared, including last year’s winner Salaam Dubai who was placed in the Golden Shaheen on World Cup night in 2007.
Trained by Adi Selvaratnam, he has proved a real star for connections but his trainer feels he will perhaps need the run: “He is ready for a race but will certainly improve for it.
