GRADE II RISEN STAR STAKES
Mike Smith (jockey, Intense Holiday, winner): “Well, in the very beginning he kind of slipped leaving there which turned out to be a good thing. It kind of scared him and he got up on the bridle which I wanted him to be but he was a bit too keen early. So when I finally talked him out of it he just completely let go and I was like ‘uh no, not that much.’ I asked him again and he jumped back on it again and I had to talk him out it or he would let go too much. There was a lot of room to improve there and a lot of room to grow. What I really liked at the end was galloping out, after I stopped him, you can tell when a 3-year-old has had enough. He took one breath and came back so we did not get to the bottom of him.

LOUISIANA-BRED VICAR’S IN TROUBLE WINS G3 LECOMTE
NEW ORLEANS (January 18, 2014) – Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Louisiana-bred Vicar’s in Trouble, a well-regarded second choice in the wagering in Saturday’s Grade III Lecomte Stakes on Road to the Derby Day at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, became the first Louisiana-bred horse since One Tough Cat in 1987 to win the first leg of a three-race series that will conclude with the $1 million Louisiana Derby on March 29 at the Crescent City oval.
Robby Albarado (jockey, winner Unbridled Forever): “She is a phenomenal filly. She’s got a lot of buttons to her. Dallas has been very high on her from the start. I’ve never gotten on her in the mornings, only in the three races. She’s been exceptional every race. I’d like to congratulate Mr. Fipke. He’s done a lot for racing and deserves one like this. I don’t feel like we know the depth of her yet. Obviously a nice filly today, Larry Jones filly, hung in there tough. I think there is more to her.
