BAZE COMPLETES BIG WEEKEND AT GGF WITH FOUR-VICTORY AFTERNOON
ALBANY -- Jockey Russell Baze completed a very successful weekend at Golden Gate Fields by riding four winners Sunday at the East Bay racetrack.
Baze rode three winners Friday and had a riding double Saturday that included a victory in the $100,000 Campanile Stakes aboard Best Present Ever.

BEST PRESENT EVER FAVORED IN CAMPANILE STAKES AT GGF
ALBANY -- Best Present Ever, a winner of two straight races on turf, is the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $100,000 Campanile Stakes at Golden Gate Fields Saturday.
The Campanile is a one-mile grass race for 3-year-old fillies bred in California. The feature will be run at 4:25 p.m. and is the seventh race on a nine-race program that begins at 1:15 p.m.

AWESOME GEM AWARDED BERKELEY HANDICAP WIN WHEN POSITIVE RESPONSE IS DISQUALIFIED
ALBANY -- Positive Response crossed the wire first in the $100,000 Berkeley Handicap at Golden Gate Fields Monday but it was runner-up Awesome Gem who was ultimately declared the winner of the Grade 3 stakes for older horses.
Positive Response defeated Awesome Gem by three-quarters of a length in the 1 1/16-mile contest but was disqualified from first and placed fourth by the stewards for interfering with fourth-place finisher Anthony’s Cross in deep stretch.

JOCKEY COUTON HAS BIG DAY AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS
ALBANY -- French jockey Julien Couton enjoyed a big Saturday afternoon at Golden Gate Fields, winning with his first three mounts and finishing in the money with two others.
Couton captured the first race with Mtn Ranch Willy ($4.00), the third with One Lucky Guy ($8.60), and the fourth with Midnight Fiddle ($17.00).

ALL GATES AT GGF OPEN AT 9 A.M. SATURDAY FOR SIMULCAST OF PREAKNESS CARD FROM PIMLICO
ALBANY -- All admission gates at Golden Gate Fields open at 9 a.m. Saturday to facilitate the simulcast of racing from Pimlico Race Course, site of the Preakness Stakes.
Golden Gate Fields will simulcast races four through 13 on the Preakness Stakes Day program, which features several stakes in addition to the $1 million Preakness, the middle jewel of thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown.

PREAKNESS STAKES BETTING BEGINS FRIDAY AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS
Golden Gate Fields will accept wagers on Saturday’s 137th running of the Preakness Stakes during its live racing program Friday afternoon and also during its morning and nighttime simulcast programs.
Post time for the first race at Golden Gate Fields is 1:15 p.m., however, admission gates open at 10 a.m. for fans wishing to bet via simulcast on action from Belmont Park, Pimlico, Woodbine, Louisiana Downs, and Chuchill Downs. Following its live racing card, Golden Gate Fields will remain open for simulcast wagering on night racing from Hollywood Park and Los Alamitos.

GGF OPENING EARLY SATURDAY FOR SIMULCAST OF PREAKNESS CARD
ALBANY -- Golden Gate Fields will open all admission gates at 9 a.m. Saturday in order to simulcast the majority of the Preakness Stakes Day card from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
Golden Gate Fields will simulcast races four through 13 from Pimlico. Post time for the fourth race is 9:37 a.m. Post time for the Preakness Stakes, race No. 12, is 3:18 p.m.

STONEY FLEECE NAILS CHIPS ALL IN ON WIRE IN ALCATRAZ STAKES
ALBANY -- Stoney Fleece, who finished behind Chips All In in a pair of turf stakes at Santa Anita, turned the tables on his Southern California rival Saturday at Golden Gate Fields when he got up in the last jump to win the $75,000 Alcatraz Stakes by a nose.
Chips All In defeated Stoney Fleece by 1 3/4 lengths while winning the Eddie Logan Stakes on Dec. 31 and by 2 1/2 lengths while capturing the Pasadena Stakes on March 23.
Stoney Fleece finished third in the Eddie Logan and seventh in the Pasadena, which featured a blanket finish.

CHIPS ALL IN FOR $75,000 POT IN ALCATRAZ STAKES AT GGF
Chips All In will put his perfect turf record on the line Saturday at Golden Gate Fields when he faces six rivals in the $75,000 Alcatraz Stakes.
The Alcatraz is for 3-year-olds and will be run at 1 1/16-miles on the Lakeside Turf Course. Chips All In is 2-for-2 on grass with the victories coming in the Eddie Logan and Pasadena Stakes at Santa Anita.

BAZE HAS RIDING TRIPLE, HERNANDEZ A DOUBLE AT GGF
ALBANY -- Jockey Russell Baze recorded a riding triple and Juan Hernandez had a riding double Thursday at Golden Gate Fields.
Baze scored his hat trick with victories aboard Final Journey ($4.00) in the third race, Deal’ Em ($5.80) in the fifth, and Elivette ($5.80) in the seventh.
Fans of Hernandez left the track with their pockets full as the aggressive rider scored with a pair of longshots. Hernandez won the second race with 16-1 Indian Bobby ($34.40) and the sixth with 6-1 Renzo Sean ($14.00).
Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Friday. Post time is 1:15 p.m.

STORMY LUCY BREATHING EASY AFTER GOLDEN POPPY VICTORY
ALBANY -- Stormy Lucy, a new filly since having a breathing problem corrected, charged to a 2 1/2-length victory in the $75,000 Golden Poppy Stakes at Golden Gate Fields Sunday.
Stormy Lucy was trying turf for the first time and stretching out in distance in the Golden Poppy, a 1 1/16-mile grass race for 3-year-old fillies. The Kentucky-bred daughter of Stormy Atlantic handled both tests impressively, rallying from a few lengths off the pace to earn her third straight victory since undergoing surgery for an entrapped epiglottis.
