STRETCH SURGE CARRIES TROIS AUREOLE IN LE CLE
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 8, 2012)—Receiving the waiting ride she prefers, Trois Aureole was an easy winner of the $69,700 Le Cle Stakes Sunday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The victory by 1½ lengths under jockey Joe Talamo was the third in four starts around two turns for the 3-year-old English Channel filly out of the Saint Ballado mare Two Halos.

Phil D’Amato, who stepped in admirably in the wake of Mike Mitchell’s surgery, said Sunday the trainer is getting stronger and stronger every day.
Mitchell underwent a successful procedure to remove a brain tumor June 29th at USC Medical Center.

After the third race was official, the on-track patrons were able to relive the Flower Alley colt’s dramatic victories in the first two jewels of the Triple Crown before the chestnut exited the paddock and made his way to the track.
GAME ON DUDE GIVES SUTHERLAND HISTORIC GOLD CUP WIN
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 7, 2012)—A year after she and Game On Dude lost by a nose to First Dude in the Grade I, $500,000 Hollywood Gold Cup, jockey Chantal Sutherland and Awesome Again gelding made amends in 2012.
The anticipated victory by the 2-5 favorite in the 73rd renewal of Betfair Hollywood Park’s signature race was historic. Sutherland, who became the first female to ride in the race in 2011, became the first of her sex to win Saturday, prevailing by 1 ½ lengths over 5-2 second choice Richard’s Kid.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 6, 2012)—Nofty, the 7-10 favorite, won for the second time in six starts over the Betfair Hollywood Park turf course, capturing the $52,350 feature for California breds Friday night.
On or near the lead throughout, the 5-year-old Stormy Atlantic gelding – who is winless in eight starts elsewhere – prevailed by 1 ¼ lengths over 5-1 shot Mr. Ornery in 1:09.35 for the six furlongs.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 5, 2012)—Making her first start since April 22, Lilly’s Perfect rallied inside Belle Gallantey in the final sixteenth to win the $38,350 feature Thursday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The half-length win was the fourth in 21 starts for the 5-year-old daughter of Pleasantly Perfect and the Marquetry mare Lilly Bean. Owned by Calabria Stables, Lynn Chang and Jim Volk and trained by Dean Greenman, the 8-5 second choice increased her earnings to $120,980.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 4, 2012)—Blueskiesnrainbows, who earned his maiden victory against $30,000 claimers last Dec. 11, became a graded stakes winner Thursday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Giving jockey Joe Talamo his second consecutive win in the Grade II, $150,000 Swaps Stakes, the English Channel colt led throughout, prevailing by three-quarters of a length over Nonios and five other fellow 3-year-olds.

JOHN HARRIS NINTH WINNER OF LAFFIT PINCAY, JR. AWARD
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 29, 2012)—John Harris will be presented the ninth annual Laffit Pincay, Jr. Award during the Hollywood Gold Cup program Saturday, July 7 at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Pincay, a member of racing’s Hall of Fame since 1975, will make the presentation between the fifth and sixth races.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 28, 2012)—Making his first start beyond seven furlongs since October 4, 2009, John Scott was a winner, defeating favored Rail Trip in the $65,930 feature Thursday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Successful for the second time in three starts since returning from a lengthy layoff, the 5-year-old gelding prevailed by a half-length under jockey Victor Espinoza.
