STYLISH COMEBACK FOR ALL STAR HEART
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 10, 2012)—A layoff of some 6 ½ months proved no issue for All Star Heart in the $72,800 Redondo Beach Stakes Sunday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Making her first appearance since winning the Grade II Las Palmas Stakes last Nov. 6, the Canadian bred rallied strongly in the final furlong to defeat Hard to Resist and six others.

DECLINES LEAD TO PURSE REDUCTION BEGINNING JUNE 14
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 9, 2012)—Due to unanticipated declines in field size and, subsequently, all sources handle, Betfair Hollywood Park announced Saturday reductions in purses will begin Thursday. Entries for those races will take place Sunday.
Non-claiming and maiden allowance races will be cut $2,000. While claiming races will be reduced $1,000, they will remain – in nearly all cases – higher or close to the same levels that were offered during the Winter/Spring meet at Santa Anita that concluded April 22.

PICK SIX CARRYOVER ($74,276) SPICES SATURDAY CARD
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 8, 2012)—There will be a Pick Six carryover of $74,276 when racing resumes Saturday morning – 11 a.m. post time – at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The Pick Six will begin in the sixth race, which is the 12th running of the Manhattan Beach Stakes. Scheduled post time is 1:36 p.m. The next-to-last race in the sequence is the Grade I, $250,000 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 7, 2012)—A cut back in distance and a drop in class proved the winning moves for Red Defense in a $55,400 optional claimer Thursday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Offered for a $25,000 claiming price less than two months after being taken for $62,500 at Santa Anita, the 5-year-old Redattore gelding ran past pacesetter Thunder of Zion in the final sixteenth of a mile.

ACCLAMATION SEEKS THIRD CONSECUTIVE WIN IN WHITTINGHAM
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 6, 2012)—Acclamation, the champion older male of 2011, will make his first start in eight months when he aims for his third consecutive victory in the Grade I, $250,000 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap Saturday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Set for 1 ¼ miles on turf, the Whittingham is one of three turf stakes – along with the Grade II, $150,000 Honeymoon Handicap for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/8 miles and the $70,000 Manhattan Beach for 3-year-old fillies at six furlongs – on the 11 race card. The Whittingham goes as the 10th while the Honeymoon is the third and Manhattan Beach the sixth.

NONIOS UPSET WINNER ($33.80) OF AFFIRMED HANDICAP
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 3, 2012)—Making his first start away from Golden Gate Fields, Nonios proved he belonged in graded company with a 15-1 surprise in the $100,000 Affirmed Handicap Sunday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Under jockey Martin Pedroza, the 3-year-old son of Pleasantly Perfect waited for room while full of run approaching the stretch, found an opening between horses with less than an eighth of a mile to run and held favored Liaison safe.
CASHCALL FUTURITY, HOLLYWOOD STARLET NOMS RISE
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 3, 2012)—The first round of nominations for the CashCall Futurity and the Hollywood Starlet have risen for a third consecutive year, according to Martin Panza, Betfair Hollywood Park’s racing secretary and vice president-racing.
Early noms for the CashCall Futurity, a Grade I for 2-year-olds which has a guaranteed purse of $750,000, total 284 –pending late mail - compared to 250 in 2011 and 225 in 2010. The Futurity, which is sponsored by J. Paul Reddam, the owner of Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I’ll Have Another, will be run for the 32nd time Saturday, Dec. 15.

GAME ON DUDE REBOUNDS WITH RECORD VICTORY
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 2, 2012)—In his first start since a forgettable trip to the United Arab Emirates, Game On Dude responded with a record performance in the $147,000 Californian Saturday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
In front of an on-track crowd that included part owner Joe Torre, the 5-year-old Awesome Again gelding took command from the outset in the Grade II and rolled to a 7 ¼ length win over Kettle Corn and two others.
HALF DOZEN STILL ALIVE IN SHOW ME THE MONEY
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 2, 2012)—After Friday night’s races, only six players remain alive in the $3,000 winner-take-all Show Me The Money –Presented by Golden Nugget Las Vegas - contest at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The free challenge, which began May 6 with 1,738 players, requires a participant to choose one horse each racing day – in six designated races - at least 10 minutes prior to the first race. The selected horse must finish first, second or third for a player to continue.

AMERICAN LADY HELPS BAFFERT REACH MILESTONE
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (June 1, 2012)—Favored American Lady provided Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert with a milestone victory in the $71,800 Reminiscing Stakes Friday night at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The 4-year-old gray daughter of Stormy Atlantic ran past pacesetter Spectacular Sky early in the stretch and went on to a 1 ½ length decision for her third win in six starts.
