HRTV Offers Live Coverage of “Delta Jackpot Night” This Friday


Vinton, LA, Dec. 2 -- HRTV (R) will once again provide complete live coverage of "Delta Jackpot Night" from Delta Downs on Friday, Dec. 4.

Annually one of the biggest racing days in Louisiana, "Delta Jackpot Night" features six stakes races with a combined purse of $1.6 million. The outstanding night of racing is topped by a pair of 2-year-old races -- the Grade 3, $750,000 Delta Jackpot (at 1 1/16 miles), and the Gr. 3, $500,000 Delta Princess (one mile), powered by Youbet.com.

TALAMO WINS FIVE, INCLUDING MOCCASIN ABOARD BICKERSONS


INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Nov. 22, 2009) — Jockey Joe Talamo capped a four-win afternoon with a victory aboard eastern horse Bickersons in the $100,000 Moccasin Stakes on Sunday at Hollywood Park.

Talamo, 19, rode a perfect race, briefly relinquishing the lead on the backstretch when Bickersons was challenged by Neeko, and the Canadian-bred had plenty left when challenged by favorite Crisis of Spirit rounding the far turn.

HRTV’S SPECIAL “INSIDE INFORMATION: A TRIBUTE TO BOBBY”


Arcadia, CA, Nov. 19 -- HRTV (R) will present a special edition of its newsmagazine show, "Inside Information," which will offer a tribute and remembrances of Hall of Fame trainer Bobby Frankel, who died earlier this week at age 68 after battling lymphoma in recent months, on Sunday, November 22 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

The half-hour special, titled "Inside Information: A Tribute to Bobby," will be a retrospective on one of the sport's most accomplished conditioners. It will include tributes to Frankel's successes and impact on the sport from numerous members of the Thoroughbred racing community.

HRTV to Show Zenyatta’s Final Breeders’ Cup Workout Live on Saturday


HRTV (R) will show undefeated Zenyatta's final Breeders' Cup workout live from Hollywood Park on Saturday, during the premiere of its daily "Pursuit of the Cup, presented by OCD Pellets" show.

Owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, and undefeated in 13 career starts, Zenyatta is cross-entered in both the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic, which would be her first attempt against the sport's top male runners, and the $2 million Ladies Classic. Trainer John Shirreffs has indicated that a decision as to which race the great mare runs in will likely depend on how she handles Saturday’s workout.

HRTV On-site at Laurel Park for Jim McKay Maryland Million Day This Saturday


Laurel, MD, Sept. 22 -- HRTV (TM) will continue its annual Fall sojourn to Maryland when it once again provides on-site coverage of the 24th annual Jim McKay Maryland Million Day from Laurel Park this Saturday, September 26.

HRTV's Scott Hazelton and Caton Bredar will be at Laurel to anchor the network's full-day coverage of Jim McKay Maryland Million Day, a popular annual staple on the racing calendar, which features 12 stakes races and $1.23 million in total purse money for Maryland-sired horses.

Arcadia, CA, Sept. 17 -- Seriously-injured jockey Rene Douglas talks candidly about his life-changing accident on the next edition of HRTV's (TM) newsmagazine show, "Inside Information," which will air on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Also featured on the show will be an entertaining retrospective on stretch-running equine legend, Silky Sullivan, as well as Hall of Fame trainer Jonathan Sheppard.

HRTV PRESENTS RE-AIRS OF PREVIOUS BREEDERS’ CUPS SHOWS (1984-2005), BEGINNING ON MONDAY, SEPT. 21


Arcadia, CA, Sept. 16 -- With the Breeders' Cup World Championships less than two months away, HRTV (TM) will give racing fans a unique, historical look at previous runnings of "Racing's Greatest Day," when it re-airs Breeders' Cup shows (from 1984 through 2005), as originally broadcast, on both Monday and Tuesdays, beginning this Monday, Sept. 21, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

After the original evening debut on Sept. 21 -- in which the original NBC Sports Breeders' Cup shows will be broadcast in their entirety -- HRTV will air two Breeders' Cup shows every Monday and Tuesday. These airings will lead into this year's two-day extravaganza, which is slated for Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7 from Santa Anita Park.

HRTV to Air Opening Two Days of Keeneland Yearling Sale


HorseRacing TV (TM) (HRTV) will present live coverage of the first two days of next week's Keeneland September Yearling Sale, beginning on Monday, Sept. 14, and continuing on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The network's coverage will begin at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on both days, with both sessions anticipated to conclude at approximately 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT each day.

HRTV’s “Inside Information” Highlights a Mid-Atlantic Tradition, Benefit for Rene Douglas


Arcadia, CA, August 20 -- HorseRacing TV's (TM) (HRTV) newsmagazine show, "Inside Information," will highlight a longstanding tradition on the Mid-Atlantic shores, as well as a heartwarming fund-raiser for injured jockey Rene Douglas, on its next edition, which will air on Sunday, August 23 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Each summer, the wild ponies of Assateague Island are migrated to the island of Chincoteague, VA, swimming across a narrow stretch of sea, a unique sight in nature. For many years, the Chincoteague Fire Department has overseen the welfare of this rare herd during the annual pony swim, which generates much of the Fire Department's funds.

Network to Air Juddmonte International Stakes on Tuesday


HorseRacing TV (TM (HRTV) will provide live coverage of the Juddmonte International Stakes from York, which is scheduled to feature European superstar Sea The Stars, this Tuesday, August 18.

The brilliant Sea The Stars has already won the 2000 Guineas, Epsom Derby, and the Eclipse Stakes for trainer John Oxx. The Juddmonte International, a Group 1 race, is contested at just over 1 1/4 miles.

HorseRacing TV to Air Del Mar Replays, Beginning This Saturday


Arcadia, CA, August 13 -- HorseRacing TV (TM) (HRTV) will provide nightly replays of the Del Mar races, beginning this Saturday, August 15 at 10:30 p.m. PT/1:30 a.m. ET (next day)

The half-hour show, which will be produced by Del Mar, will air five nights a week (Wednesday-Sunday) at the aforementioned time, offering replays from one of the sport's premier racing venues.
