LEXINGTON, KY (October 12, 2012) – Keeneland sales graduates abound in a graded stakes this weekend, many of which will be contested on the turf. Sunday’s card at Woodbine features four stakes including Al Khali in the Pattison Candadian International (G1) and Moment of Majesty and Stars to Shine in the E.P. Taylor (G1).

LEXINGTON, KY (October 11, 2012) – Spendthrift Farm’s homebred Moonwalk, dismissed at 36-1 odds, held off Kitten’s Point by a nose to win the 22nd running of the $150,000 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (Grade 3) for 2-year-old fillies before a crowd of 10,051 at Keeneland.

College Scholarship Day at Keeneland – Friday, October 12


Thousands of students from colleges and universities in Kentucky and neighboring states will be at Keeneland on Friday, October 12, for one of the track’s most popular promotions – College Scholarship Day.

Keeneland and the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association will partner to give away ten $1,000 scholarships to full-time students. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded after each race.

LEXINGTON, KY (October 10, 2012) – Grade 1 winners Samitar (GB) and Stephanie’s Kitten headline a field of eight 3-year-old fillies entered Wednesday for Saturday’s 29th running of the $400,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1).

The QE II will go as the ninth race on Saturday’s 10-race program with a 5:21 p.m. (ET) post time. First post time Saturday is 1:05 p.m.

Keeneland Wins 5th International Simulcast Award


LEXINGTON, KY (October 10, 2012) – Keeneland Association earned its fifth International Simulcast Award, tying with Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto for first place at the 20th annual International Simulcasting Conference, held recently in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

The Simulcast Award honors excellence in the presentation of a racetrack’s live race product to its simulcast outlets. A panel of five judges selected the winners as best among 12 North American racetracks entered for consideration.

Olympian and Lexington Native Tyson Gay Will Be at Keeneland on Sunday, Oct. 14

LEXINGTON, KY (October 8, 2012) –Keeneland will welcome Olympian and Lexington native Tyson Gay to the races on Sunday, October 14, for a special salute.
Gay is a triple World Champion, an American record holder and the second-fastest man in history. He earned a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympic games as part of the of the 4 x100m relay team.
