Shadwell Farm returns to Nad Al Sheba to sponsor showpiece Super Thursday card
This Thursday, Nad Al Sheba will host Super Thursday, the dress rehearsal for the world’s richest day of racing, the Dubai World Cup, and the concluding fixture of the Dubai International Racing Carnival.
The Dubai Racing Club is delighted to announce that Shadwell Farm will be sponsoring the meeting, which promises to be the best night’s racing so far this season, and a fitting prelude to the Dubai World Cup meeting on March 28th.

WARREN’S DREAMING SCORES BY A NOSTRIL IN FEATURE RACE
ALBANY -- Warren's Dreaming, the 7-to-5 favorite ridden by William Antongeorgi III, got her nose down on the wire and handed Rule the Storm a tough defeat in the $21,580 feature race at Golden Gate Fields Sunday.
Rule the Storm, with Omar Figueroa aboard, battled with Warren's Dreaming through the length of the stretch and led for every step but the last one. The photo finish picture showed Warren's Dreaming prevailing by a nostril in the one-mile starter allowance contest for fillies and mares.

Saturday gallops
With only next week’s Super Thursday meeting, the dress rehearsal for Dubai World Cup night left before the big night itself, it was not surprising Nad Al Sheba was a lot quieter than normal for a Saturday morning.
However, those who did drag themselves out of bed were able to see Richard Hills put Dubai Sheema Classic hopeful Youmzain through his paces on the turf. He may run on Thursday, as could Dubai Duty Free aspirant Vodka who was also spotted on the track.

Carnival BurJuman Fillies & Fashion
Dubai Racing Club, official fashion partner BurJuman and event sponsors Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and Contempo Events, played host to the fabulous Carnival edition of the BurJuman Fillies & Fashion series.
Gorgeous millinery displays from Walter Wright Limited, and make-up touch-ups were available from FACE Stockholm, ensured ladies were impeccably groomed from tip to toe.
The Ahlan! Glamour Studio proved a popular attraction, with guests paying a visit to have their very own photo finish by a team of professional photographers.

Oaks claimed by Godolphin’s Devotee
Dubai World Cup night clues aplenty were on offer at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday at the ninth meeting of the Dubai International Racing Carnival.
Sponsored by Meydan City, the night’s feature was the Listed Oaks, a dirt race for three-year-old fillies and won by Godolphin’s Devotee who was able to bounce back after a disappointing run in the UAE 1000 Guineas when found to have an irregular heartbeat.

Barton and Bin Suroor fillies headline the feature race
With the new Meydan grandstand dominating the skyline behind Nad Al Sheba it is fitting that Thursday’s penultimate meeting of the 2009 Dubai International Racing Carnival is sponsored by Meydan.
The Listed UAE Oaks, for three-year-old fillies over 1800m, is the official feature and eight take their chance – all of whom contested the UAE 1000 Guineas, over 1600m, three weeks ago.

Quality on offer at ERA Sale
Multiple group winners Lord Admiral, Biarritz, Royal Vintage and Vertigineux highlight the Dubai International Racing Carnival Session of the annual Emirates Racing Authority Horses in Training Sale, sponsored by Al Basti Equiworld, at Nad Al Sheba next week.
In association with leading auction house Tattersalls, the sale will encompass 47 horses to be sold at the DIRC session on Tuesday March 3 with another 97 due to be sold the following evening at the ERA Horses in Training Sale.

Classy battle for second round of UAE Triple Crown
Sunday’s twelfth meeting of the season at Abu Dhabi, kindly sponsored by Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club features the Group 3 middle round of the UAE Triple Crown, over 2200m, with a small, but select, field of five declared.
A strong case can be made for four of them though with last week’s UAE Arabian Derby winner Ibn Abeya likely to be hard to beat for trainer Samir Hawaa with jockey Robbie Burke maintaining the partnership.

Central dances to Balanchine glory
Friday’s eighth meeting of the 2009 Dubai International Racing Carnival, kindly sponsored by Etisalat, was an all Thoroughbred eight race card with Irishman Johnny Murtagh taking the riding plaudits.
He rode a double, including winning the featured 1777m Group 3 Balanchine Stakes, a race restricted to fillies and mares, on the Herman Brown-trained My Central who he brought from last to first in the final 500m.

Gladiatorus storms the Fort
Local trainer Mubarak Bin Shafya and horses trained in the UK shared the honours at Thursday’s seventh meeting of the 2009 Dubai International Racing Carnival with three winners apiece.
Bin Shafya’s treble included the ultra impressive victory of Gladiatorus in the night’s feature, the Group 2 Al Fahidi Fort over 1600m on the Nad Al Sheba turf.

Front House to deny Deem
Friday’s second carnival meeting of the weekend, the eighth of the 2009 Dubai International Racing Carnival, is kindly sponsored by Etisalat and features the sixth running of the Balanchine Stakes.
A 1777m Group 3 contest on the turf, it is restricted to fillies and mares and South African trainer Mike De Kock has a particularly strong record having won it three times.
