AMERICAN PHAROAH BREEZES HALF-MILE IN :48 FOR BELMONT STAKES
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Tuesday, May 26, 2015) – Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (GI) and Preakness Stakes (GI) winner American Pharoah took his preparation for the June 6 Belmont Stakes (GI) to the next level breezing a half-mile in :48 over a fast track Tuesday morning at Churchill Downs. Martin Garcia was in the irons for the 8:30 a.m. exercise as American Pharoah galloped out five furlongs in 1:00.40 and three-quarters of a mile in 1:13.20 after early 1/8-mile splits of 12.20, 24 and :35.80.

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 pool produced multiple winners of $36,652.54 Friday at Gulfstream Park.
The popular multi-wager had gone unsolved for 16 straight racing days, leading up to Friday’s mandatory payout. Lured by a guaranteed $350,000 carryover, bettors poured $903,874 into the Rainbow 6 pool before the start of the six-race sequence that spanned Races 4-9.

Brands (GI) winner American Pharoah had his first gallop since his seven-length romp in last Saturday’s Preakness Stakes (GI) in preparation for the final leg of the Triple Crown, the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (GI) on June 6. The homebred son of Pioneerof the Nile galloped 1 3/16 miles over the Churchill Downs main track Friday at 8:30 a.m. following the renovation break with exercise rider Jorge Alvarez up.

Brands (Grade I) and Preakness (GI) winner American Pharoah (7-6-0-0-$3,730,300) returned to the track Thursday for the first time since Saturday's seven-length romp in the slop at Pimlico Race Course. The 3-year-old flew from Baltimore to Louisville on Monday to begin preparations for the 147th running of the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (Grade I) on Saturday, June 6 from his classic's base at Churchill Downs Barn 33.
