PALOS VERDES STAKES QUOTES
JOE TALAMO, SAHARA SKY, WINNER: (In response to the horse coming off a layoff and going off at such a big price): “I was real confident. I know Jerry (Hollendorfer) always has them nice and tight off the layoff. He ran unbelievable. That was actually the closest he’s ever run; I thought he was going to be 10 lengths further back than he was. He broke sharply, he put me right there, and I still had a lot of horse when I called on him. I just followed him (Rafael Bejarano on Justin Phillip) the whole race; whatever he did, I did. I had a lot of horse today.”

GARRETT GOMEZ, RHYTHM OF LIGHT, WINNER: “She always travels really well. She did everything like a class filly should, and she proved she was today. She was absolutely perfect about everything and traveled the last six furlongs exactly the way I wanted her to. She was never too keen or too much off the bridle and raced beautiful the whole time. When I asked her to pick up, she picked up great and came home nice. I didn’t have to ask her for too much.”
