The Alfred G. Vanderbilt G1 Quotes

Arnaud Delacour, winning trainer of A.P. Indian (No. 4): "I thought he fitted well with these horses. It was a little tricky, but knowing he's in good form right now, we thought we had a shot. I had a lot of faith in the horse."

"If you like at his career, he's had some minor setbacks. But all the time he comes back. He seems to come back even stronger. It's worth giving him time for that."

Bowling Green (G2) Quotes

Chad Brown, winning trainer of Flintshire (No. 2): "He likes to run and cover and Javier has a really good feel for him, so I wasn't too worried. When Twilight Eclipse finally made the move and they all went, it was a pretty easy decision to steer him outside for home."

"Javier showed a lot of poise. He didn't panic. The horse ran terrific. He's a true champion. They're a great team."

Curlin Quotes

Chad Brown, winning trainer of Connected (No. 1) and second-place finisher Gift Box (No. 4): "This horse [Connected] is lightly raced but we've always thought a lot of him. He's developed in each race. Running two turns today and being the pacesetter to be able to hold on and prevail he showed a lot."

"Gift Box ran a good race as well. He's coming off a longer layoff so he might have needed this race and was stuck along the rail but he performed well. With both the horses running 1,2 in any order that's what we were hoping for. I hate to run them both against each other but with limited opportunities I thought this race worked out well for both of them as a prep heading towards the Travers."
