Can Moment of Majesty deliver a former Maple Leaf a Maple Leaf score?

TORONTO, October 31 – Moment of Majesty, a five-year-old daughter of Saint Liam, looks to get back on the winning track for co-owner and former NHL great Curtis Joseph, in Saturday’s $175,000 Maple Leaf Stakes, at Woodbine.

A lifetime winner of four races from 21 starts, Moment of Majesty, who is also co-owned by hockey agent Don Meehan and trainer Sue Leslie, comes into the 1 ¼-mile stake off back-to-back seventh-place finishes in very tough assignments.

Triactors added to WEG fractional betting menu

TORONTO, October 30 - Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) today announced it was adding 20-cent triactors to its live fractional betting menu through to the end of the year.

Beginning Thursday, November 1, racing fans can wager a minimum of 20 cents on triactors during Woodbine's live Standardbred and Thoroughbred cards.

Post positions for Breeders’ Cup including six Woodbine-based entries

October 29 – Six Woodbine-based horses are among the final entries for the 29th Breeders' Cup World Championships, set for Santa Anita Park, in Arcadia, California, this Friday, November 2, and Saturday, November 3.

Post-positions and morning-line odds for Delegation (Post 2, Dirt Mile), Dynamic Sky (Post 6, Juvenile), Pool Play (Post 1, Classic), Spring in the Air (Post 3, Juvenile Fillies), Spring Venture (Post 5, Juvenile Fillies Turf), all for Woodbine-based trainer Mark Casse, and Nancy O (Post 9, Juvenile Fillies Turf) for Woodbine conditioner Carolyn Costigan, were established in an afternoon press conference at Santa Anita Park.

A Friday five for Jesse Campbell

TORONTO, October 19 – Jockey Jesse Campbell enjoyed a memorable day of racing at Woodbine on Friday, riding five winners on the nine-race card.

Campbell, who won his first career race at Arlington Park on July 20, 1995, on a horse (Apostle Island) trained by his father, Michael Campbell, and bred by his grandfather, moved his tack to Woodbine in 2011.

Is Cup & Saucer His Race to Win?

TORONTO, October 17 – Although he hasn’t reached the winner’s circle in his first two starts, Sam-Son Farm’s His Race to Win comes into his initial stakes appearance, Saturday’s $250,000 Cup & Saucer at Woodbine, heading in the right direction.

A two-year-old bay son of Stormy Atlantic, His Race to Win enters the 1 1/16-mile turf Cup & Saucer off a second-place finish in a one mile and 70 yard Polytrack race (originally slated for the E.P. Taylor Turf Course), on September 23.

Highly Competitive Field of 11 to Contest Pattison Canadian Internat’l

TORONTO, October 11 – Imperial Monarch, Reliable Man, Joshua Tree and Wigmore Hall head a highly-competitive cast of 11 for the $1.5 million, Grade 1 Pattison Canadian International on the richest day of the thoroughbred racing season in Canada, Sunday at Woodbine.

In addition to the mile and one-half Pattison, Canada’s richest horse race, two other turf stakes will highlight the undercard - the $1 million, Grade 1 E.P. Taylor, at one mile and one-quarter, for fillies and mares, and the six furlong, $500,000 Grade 1 Nearctic, for three-year-olds and upward.

TORONTO, October 7 - Wigmore Hall, a five-year-old son of High Chaparral, will look to improve on his perfect two-for-two record over Woodbine’s E.P. Taylor Turf Course, in Sunday's $1.5-million Pattison Canadian International.

River Seven Flows to Upset Score in Grey Stakes

TORONTO, October 7 – River Seven, at 7-1, bested five rivals, including the previously unbeaten Uncaptured, the 2-5 choice, in Sunday’s Grade 3, $224,800 Grey Stakes, at Woodbine.

Owned by Tucci Stables and trained by Nick Gonzalez, River Seven, a two-year-old son of Johannesburg, broke his maiden in style, a three-quarter length win in the 1 1/16-mile feature.
