“We’re looking ahead and maybe try to repeat what we did last year, maybe go back to California for the Santa Anita Handicap and try to do that over again.”
Jockey Jose Lezcano (Ron the Greek): "The speed went well for him today. When I asked him at the three-eighths pole I had plenty of horse left."
Trainer David Fawkes (Cash Rules): "I told Luis Saez, 'It looks like the speed was holding all day long, don't be too far off of it.' Saez said going down the backside he kept getting bounced. He looked like a pony next to the other horses. Saez said they were banging into him but he still ran a great race. He's a tough horse and gives 110% every time he races. Ran a huge race, got beat by a better horse today, I'm very happy with him."
Jockey Mike Smith (Mucho Macho Man): "He put his head in the air and stopped. I have no idea."
Owner Dean Reeves, Reeves Thoroughbred Racing (Mucho Macho Man): "We're going to go back (to the barn) and check. He didn't fire or there's some problem."
