Ray Handal, assistant to winning trainer Anthony Dutrow, of Twice the Lady (No. 5): “This filly has been training great. She stayed up here after her last race, and Tony did a great job placing her and finding the spot. She’s a tough filly to find a race for. He nominated her and it came up nice. She’d been doing so good, I was pretty confident coming into the race. R Gypsy Gold looked tough but our filly showed her stuff today. We’ll see what happens but we’ll probably look for a similar spot.”

Cornelio Velasquez, winning jockey aboard Twice the Lady (No. 5): “I think the Pletcher horse [R Gypsy Gold] is a very tough horse, and I wanted to run a good second, but I had a lot of horse. The horse in front [Stephanie Jayne] wanted to go easy. I wanted to put pressure on at the three-eighths pole, but he had a lot of horse. My filly stayed strong.”
