Saez, the third leading rider at Gulfstream with 68 victories, was recovering at Memorial Regional Hospital with a "very small hairline fracture of the hip, pelvis area," according to agent Richard DePass. Saez was expected to be released from the hospital Sunday or Monday.
Lezcano, tied for fourth in the jockey standings with 53 wins, was released from the hospital Saturday evening. Lezcano suffered a sprained ankle and was off his mounts Sunday at Gulfstream. Jockey Francisco Torres who was also involved in the spill walked away from the incident. All three horses returned safely to their barns.
