JULIEN LEPAROUX, NEED YOU NOW, Winner: "I worked her in the morning and Mike (Mitchell) asked me if he should take the blinkers off. I told him it really doesn't matter because of her style. She put me right in the race today. She doesn't have that kick, but she just keeps going. Last time she ran OK (fourth in the Grade III Senorita May 11), but kind of even. I had a clear trip and didn't have to come between horses or anything and that's why she kept going."
MIKE MITCHELL, NEED YOU NOW, Winner: "She was on the bit and that was a good in a way because (Wednesday) would have been out there by herself. We just didn't want her rank and running off and with the blinkers she was kind of like that. This worked out real well. There are a lot of 3-year-old filly races on the grass at Del Mar, so the timing of this worked out perfect. She can run all day. In fact, I’d prefer a mile and one-eighth."
