HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - After trying the boys in an allowance race at Gulfstream on July 13, 17-1 long shot Isabelle's Thunder welcomed the return to fillies-and-mares company Sunday with a late-closing victory in the featured eighth race, a $36,000 claiming allowance race.
"I knew the horses on the pace were going fast, so I just relaxed my horse. The trainer told me when it's time to ask my horse I need to push her," Gonzales said. "So I pushed and I pushed. She ran a great race."
Isabelle's Thunder ran six furlongs in 1:11.77 to post her seventh victory in 22 career starts. Twice Told Tale, who saved ground while sitting off dueling pacesetters Barisoff and Dreaming of Lucy, made a move to the lead leaving the turn into the homestretch under Juan Leyva but was unable to hold off the winner. The Ralph Nicks-trained 3-year-old finished three-quarters of a length ahead of Dreaming of Lucy, who held well to finish third, 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Oh Carole, the 2-1 favorite who closed from last.

Zayas was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for x-rays.
Fernando Jara rode three winners on Sunday's card with Giacomo's Aria in the fifth and Bella Traviata ($8) in the sixth and Bi Flash ($4.60) in the seventh. Orlando Bocachica rode two winners: Alex's Vision ($11.60) in the second and Waquoit's Dance ($4.60) in the ninth.

Awesome Belle Among Entries for Saturday's $100,000 Ta Wee Stakes
Awesome Belle, a multiple stakes winner of nearly $500,000 in career earnings, was entered Sunday along with eight other fillies and mares for next Saturday's $100,000 Ta Wee Stakes at Gulfstream. The 4-year-old homebred of Jacks or Better Farm counts six stakes successes among her seven victories from 25 starts. The Stanley Gold-trained filly, who has one stakes win from six starts this year, is scheduled to be ridden by Fernando Jara, who has already ridden three stakes winners at the summer meeting.
Miss Addison, a recent stakes winner at Evangeline Downs, is expected to ship from Louisiana for the 1 1/16-mile turf stakes for Florida-bred fillies and mares. Trainers Marty Wolfson and David Fawkes both entered two horses. Wolfson entered E B Ryder, a stakes-placed two-time turf winner this year, and My Pal Chrisy, a veteran stakes performer who will run only if the race had to be moved to the main track. Sola Gratia and Millennia will represent the Fawkes Stable.
