MARTIN GARCIA, CAN THE MAN, WINNER: “They took the blinkers off today, which I think helped. I think it will be good for him to run without them. He took the lead today and was just waiting, waiting, waiting and was just playing with them. He felt that horse on the inside coming (Agapito Delgadillo on Hi Fashioned) and once they got close he took off again. He was just playing out there today.”

BOB BAFFERT, CAN THE MAN, 4-5 FAVORITE, WINNER: “He was disappointing in the two-turn race (fourth in the Grade I FrontRunner at 1 1/16 miles on Sept. 28), so I thought this was time to take the blinkers off and he drew perfectly on the outside (for this race).

“I thought I could win three (races) yesterday and had a horrible day, so you just never know . . . everything worked out today.”

Asked about the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile: “I don’t know. It’s two turns, it’s sort of tough. Right now I think one turn is his race . . . I’ve got to be careful. He’s still a young horse. He’s a nice horse and I think in time he’ll get it.”

NOTES: The winning owner is Kaleem Shah of Vienna, VA.
