Corey Nakatani (jockey, Unbridled’s Note, 2nd) – “The race set up just the way we thought it would. I was able to get first run on a lot of the horse, but I couldn’t catch the winner. He ran a tremendous race. He didn’t deserve to lose. All we can ask for them is to do their best – and that’s what he did.”
Steve Asmussen (trainer, Unbridled’s Note, 2nd and Great Mills, 4th) – “What a great day. They’re all running. They’re all running great.”
Garrett Gomez (jockey, Reneesgotzip, 3rd) – “She broke well, put me in a good spot, tracked well, crossed the dirt well. Peter (trainer Miller) jiggled the idea of trying her on the turf, and when I worked her a half-mile on the turf here a couple of weeks ago she lit up my face.”
Aidan O’Brien (trainer, Starspangledbanner, 10th) – “We’re delighted with him. I said to Joseph, if he’s rocking, let him rock. His best performances have been over five- and six-furlongs. Maybe this 6 ½ (furlongs) is just a bit too far. We can have some fun with him next year.”
Mike McCarthy (assistant to trainer Todd Pletcher, Bridgetown, 14th) – “He wasn’t on his game today, I guess.”
