JOE TALAMO, WARREN'S VENEDA, Winner: "I was glad I was able to get to the outside. That was the only concern for (Lewis) and I. It looked like (Sister Kate) was the only speed and I was fortunate enough to get around her. She's such a classy filly and obviously loves this track. I worked her before her last race (7 ¼ length optional claiming victory Oct. 13 at Santa Anita) and she's even better now than she was then. I think the farther the better with her."
MARTIN PEDROZA, SISTER KATE, Third: "I tried to let her run at the three-eighths pole and open up, but they were just much better than her today."
CRAIG LEWIS, WARREN'S VENEDA, Winner: "She's always had a lot of talent and she's just got it all together now. She was a little cantankerous early on and kind of was her own worst enemy. She'd get in trouble in every race. Now she's a lot more professional. She's a big, beautiful filly with, we hope, a nice future. I don't think sprinting is her game. She just has enough talent to win these."
DAN WARD (ASST. TO JERRY HOLLENDORFER), CURVY CAT (second) and SISTER KATE (third): “That was a good horse that beat us. I was scared about that one. We were second best. I didn't think (Sister Kate) would get that much pressure from (Ciao Bella Luna), but she ran well."
