A 5-year-old daughter of Salt Lake and the Capote mare Braids and Beads, Teddy’s Promise, who is 10-for-27 lifetime with earnings of $822,397, comes off an eighth-place finish, 7 ½ lengths behind repeat winner Groupie Doll, in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint Nov. 2.
Rumor will be making her first start since finishing fourth in the Grade II A Gleam Handicap – a race in which Teddy’s Promise was second – July 13 at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Trained by Hall of Famer Richard Mandella for Ramona Bass, Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider, the 5-year-old daughter of Indian Charlie and the Deputy Minister mare Mini Chat has won six of 16 and banked $406,391.
Trained by Simon Callaghan for Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Judy in Disguise shortens up and returns to a synthetic surface after finishing second behind Becky Lou in a $56,000 turf allowance at one mile Nov. 24.
The 3-year-old Elusive City filly out of the Machiavellian mare Tomorrow’s World has won four of 14 and earned $153,404. The English-bred has yet to compete over Cushion Track.
Trainer John Sadler, who has won two of the first three runnings of the Playa Del Rey Stakes – Lady Gamer (2007) and Sister Dawn (2010) – will be represented Sunday by Sky High Gal and Minds Eyes.
