LEXINGTON, KY (October 14, 2012) – Ten Broeck Farm’s Nechez Dawn powered past dueling leaders Heaven Knows What and Plus One in midstretch and drew off to win Sunday’s featured $56,000 Sugar Grove Purse for 3-year-old fillies by 3 ¼ lengths before a crowd of 11,440 at Keeneland.

Trained by Jeff Bonde and ridden by Kent Desormeaux, Nechez Dawn ran the 5 ½ furlongs on a firm turf course in 1:03.43.

The victory was worth $33,600 to the Kentucky-bred daughter of Indian Charlie out of the Valid Appeal mare Valid Annie. Winner of the Daisycutter Handicap at Del Mar in August and fourth in the Turf Amazon at Parx in her previous start, Nechez Dawn improved her record to 6-4-0-0 and boosted her bankroll to $153,780.

Favored in the field of eight, Nechez Dawn returned $4.20, $2.80 and $2.60. Plus One, ridden by James Graham, returned $5.60 and $4.40 with Ready to Unleash finishing third a half-length back under Corey Lanerie and paying $6.20 to show.
