Ridden by Daniel Centeno, At The Disco covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.3 over a fast main track and paid $23.60 to win. Dubai Gold rallied four wide to grab the place spot from Broadway Producer, who yielded in the final sixteenth after taking close aim at the winner early in the stretch.
Along with romps in the Bernie Dowd and Lincroft handicaps at Monmouth, the Alysheba marked At The Disco's third stakes win this year. It also provided relief from the Grade 3 company in his start prior, the Cliff Hanger, in which he finished sixth. At The Disco has now won eight of 39 starts and $394,435 lifetime.
"In the Cliff Hanger, I think the turf was a little too soft for him that day," said his trainer, Mary Hartmann. "He's a horse that likes a firmer footing. He's going to be turned out for the winter down at Ocala and we'll see him back at Monmouth."
The dashing 5-year-old grey son of Disco Rico was bred in New Jersey by owner Patricia Generazio.
