The New York Racing Association cancelled its live racing card at Aqueduct Racetrack today, as an Eastward-moving winter storm enveloped the Metropolitan New York area.
Aqueduct will remain open for simulcasting, however. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. and there is no charge for parking or admission.
The storm, which began early this morning, covered the area with snow, and then began a gradual change to a wintery mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Winter weather advisories were in effect until noon, when the conditions were expected to change to all rain.
Wednesday’s races will be brought back as extra races during the week.
Aqueduct will resume its regular live-race schedule on Thursday. First race post is 12:30 p.m.
