Owned by Harlequin Ranches and trained by Hall of Fame conditioner Roger Attfield, the four-year-old Irish-bred has been flawless in her two starts this year.
She then tested the turf in the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes, at 1 1/16 miles, on May 31, leading at every call, before having to fend off a hard-charging Quiet Jungle, whom she'll meet in the Dance Smartly, by a nose.
"She's a very good horse to ride," said jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva, who'll be in the irons on Saturday. "She always tries so hard. She always seems to put herself where she needs to be."
A lifetime winner of five races, along with one second and five thirds from 14 starts, Callwood Dancer has tested the race's 1 1/8-mile distance just once, a 3 1/2 length triumph last September over the E.P. Taylor Turf Course.
After a sixth-place finish in the Grade 3 Valley View Stakes at Keeneland in October, Callwood Dancer's campaign was over.
In spite of carrying the highweight of 121 pounds, da Silva believes the lifetime earner of $394,709 will be tough in the Dance Smartly, race six on the card.
"She galloped out really strong in the Nassau," offered da Silva. "The distance won't be a problem for her. With her, she's always focused when the race is on. She never gives you anything less than 100 per cent."
Attfield, who'll saddle Queen's Plate champion Not Bourbon in Sunday's Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie, is in search of his fourth Dance Smartly victory.
He won with Triple Wow in 1987, Sweetest Thing in 2002 and Noble Stella in 2005.
Attfield will also send out Sans Souci Island in the Dance Smartly.
Also on tap on Saturday is another added-money 1 1/8 mile grass event, the $150,000 Toronto Cup Stakes, carded as race nine.
