It marked the first win in 60 career tries for Cartwright, who made her debut in the saddle on June 19 at Monmouth Park. Cartwright and Lanave prevailed by a head over No Fret in the $10,000 six-furlong event and paid $14.60 to win. Lanave, trained by Pat McBurney and owned by Jacques Moore, was 0-for-16 entering the race.
