ELMONT, N.Y. – Belmont Park is the perfect place to celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday, June 17, with special activities for Dad planned to augment The New York Racing Association, Inc.’s (NYRA’s) regular Family Fun Day presented by Coca-Cola in the backyard.

For Dad, NYRA has hired a master barber who will offer hot lather shaves and neck trims free of charge in the Festival Tent, with a masseuse on hand as well. Habana Premium Cigar will also be stationed in the Festival Tent, handing out free cigars to the first 500 patrons who visit the tent. Family Fun Day presented by Coca-Cola features an extreme rock wall, inflatable obstacle course, game field and relay races, plus a band on the backyard stage.

All backyard activities begin at noon, with a regular first post of 12:50 p.m. Admission and parking gates will open early on Sunday (11 a.m.) and general parking is free.

The 56-day Belmont Park spring/summer Meet runs through July 15. On most days, gates open at 11:30 a.m. and first race post time is 12:50 p.m. Live racing is generally conducted Wednesday through Sunday. General parking is free for the remainder of the meet. There is no live racing on Mondays or Tuesdays, and Belmont Park will also be dark on Wednesday, July 11. Visit http://www.NYRA.com for more information.
