ALBANY -- Golden Gate Fields will present a special Columbus Day racing program Monday and the eight-race card features a Pick Six carryover of $12,850.

First post is 12:45 p.m. and the Pick Six, a $2 wager that challenges bettors to select the winners of six consecutive races, will be held on races three through eight. Post time for the third race is 1:49 p.m.

The best handicappers could do in Sunday's Pick Six was select four winners and those fans that went 4-for-6 received a consolation payoff of $1,328.

Jockey Frank Alvarado had a riding hat trick Sunday. Alvarado won the second race with Galinda ($5.20), the third with Bradford Falls ($3.80) and the seventh with Win to Win ($6.20). All three winners were favored in the betting.

Alvarado ranks second in the Golden Gate Fields jockey standings with 15 victories through 16 days of racing at the fall meeting. Russell Baze, who tops the standings with 23 wins, took off his mounts Sunday due a back strain.

Baze, who injured his back while scoring a victory in the first race Saturday, hopes to resume riding Monday. Baze has six scheduled mounts on the Columbus Day card.
