Sent to post at 4-5 under Elias Peltrouche, the Charles Town-based shipper pressed the easy pace of Double the Energy before ranging up to take the lead in mid-stretch and pulling away to win by 5-3/4 lengths. Terralba rallied to take second and Defy Gravity was third.
“This is a nice filly. I’ve ridden her the last four or five times,” said Peltroche. “I was happy they scratched this horse (Doe) so she didn’t have to run with this horse.”
“She’s just growing up a little, I believe,” said Figgins. “She likes this track. I worked her here Sunday. We were quietly confident. I never tell him how to ride her. She has speed and she puts herself where she needs to be. We’ll see how she is. It’s not out of the question that we’ll stretch her out.”
