Michael House's Delta Storm, the 4-5 betting choice under leading rider Rafael Bejarano, outduelled My City by the Bay in a virtual match race to win Monday's feature, a five-furlong sprint over the infield Jimmy Durante Turf Course.

Delta Storm and My City by the Bay, piloted by Martin Garcia, hooked up shortly after the start and raced as a team, with the former maintaining a slight advantage which he held on to doggedly, finally prevailing by a half-length.

My City by the Bay was a length in front of the fast-closing Easy On The Eye, with Summer Haze fourth in the field of six.

Delta Storm, trained by Mike Mitchell, sped the distance in :55.39 and paid $3.60, $2.20 and $2.10 while recording his eighth win in 22 starts. He was claimed by Mitchell for $40,000 in May at Churchill Downs and was second in a grass sprint for his new owner July 27. The seven-year-old gelding was bred in Kentucky and is by Storm Bird.

Runner-up My City by the Bay, who went postward at 5-1, paid $3.60 and $2.80, while Easy On The Eye returned $3.40 to show.

Monday's attendance was 7,871.
