Having run well at Meydan the previous week, he ran on strongly under Ted Durcan to lead close home for trainer Ismail Mohammed.
The following 1400m conditions race was won by Atlantic Brave for trainer Musabah Al Muhairi under stable jockey Wayne Smith. It was a career best effort from the lightly-raced four year old and Smith said: "I have to admit to being a bit surprised as we thought he would need the run. It looked a fair contest and he has done it nicely so hopefully there is more to come."
Champion Trainer Ali Rashid Al Raihe was in double form with Haatheq arguably the easiest winner of the afternoon in the 1600m handicap.
This UAE debutant was ridden by Tadhg O'Shea who said: "We were always going very strongly and with luck he could turn out to be a useful horse for the Carnival."
Thirty minutes later it was stable jockey Royston Ffrench in the saddle as Palm Court recorded a second victory this season. He won comfortably in the 1800m handicap and Ffrench said: "He has two nice wins to his name now this season and that should put him in contention for the Carnival."
Racing opened with two 1200m maidens with the Thoroughbred version going to Nanni The Teaser for Satish Seemar with stable jockey Richard Mullen in the saddle.
Mullen said: "He had some good form in America and ran well at Sharjah last time so we were expecting a big run and he has not disappointed."
The Purebred Arabian race was won by the Jaci Wickham-trained A'Nnabak W'RSan under Pat Cosgrave.
