Fasig-Tipton, North America’s oldest Thoroughbred auction firm, has partnered with Gulfstream Park to sponsor one of the track’s most venerable events, the $250,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes.

To be known as the “Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth,” the race has a storied history: Kentucky Derby winners Thunder Gulch, Spectacular Bid, Kauai King and Tim Tam won it while Go For Gin, Unbridled, Swale, Pleasant Colony, Carry Back and Iron Liege came up short but rebounded to put their connections in the Churchill Downs winners’ circle the first Saturday in May.

“A race such as the Fountain of Youth deserves a top-class sponsor, and everyone associated with the business of racing understands Fasig-Tipton’s richly deserved reputation for integrity,” said Gulfstream Park President and General Manager Bill Murphy.

“We’re very pleased to be associated with Fasig-Tipton. Fasig-Tipton is a major name in this industry, and their involvement, along with that of our other corporate partners, speak volumes to the confidence they have in this racetrack as well as the future of this industry.”

Fasig-Tipton Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dan Pride commented: “It is a great privilege to partner with Gulfstream Park to showcase one of their signature races. This great day of racing will be a highlight of the weekend for many visitors to South Florida for our two-year-old sale.”

The 63rd running of the Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth will be run at a mile on February 28, exactly one month before the Florida Derby and three days before Fasig-Tipton’s premier two-year-old in training sale.
