INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Nov. 26, 2008) — Forest Melody gained control early, repelled a bid by Double Dip on the turn for home, and cruised to a 3 1/4-length victory under jockey Joel Rosario in the $43,000 allowance feature Wednesday at Hollywood Park.

The 4-year-old filly covered 1 1/16 miles on Cushion Track in 1:43.78 for her third victory in 20 starts, snapping a seven-race winless streak in the process.

Forest Melody, trained by part-owner Paula Capestro, paid $13.20, $5.40 and $3.60. Favorite Wine and Dyne returned $3.20 and $2.60, while the show payoff on Double Dip was $2.80.

The victory — worth $25,800 — boosted Forest Melody’s earnings to $209,440.

Racing resumes at Hollywood Park with an 11 a.m. post on Thursday.
