Jockey Jermaine Bridgmohan has been aboard Frolic’s Dream in all of her starts and retains the mount in Sunday’s six-furlong test. Edgar Prado gets a return call on Elusive Heat. Frolic’s Dream is a roan/gray Florida homebred daughter of Smoke Glacken who won the $100,000 Cassidy Stakes by 12¾ lengths on Oct. 18 and $150,000 Joe O’Farrell Juvenile Fillies on Nov. 8 by 1¼ lengths in her last two starts at Calder after a winning debut.
Gessler Racing Stable’s Redreamit is another contender in the Old Hat who made a big impression winning her only start as the favorite. Trained by Ken McPeek, the roan/gray daughter of Tapit captured her debut at Churchill Downs by 3¾ lengths on Nov. 23 going 6½ furlongs. Jockey Kent Desormeaux will have the mount.
Melnyk Racing Stable’s Kentucky homebred Gemswick Park with jockey John R. Velazquez to ride has solid credentials as well after finishing third in the Frizette Stakes (G1) at Belmont and second last out in the Tempted Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct on Nov. 2, setting the pace in both races. Trained by Tom Albertrani, the daughter of Melnyk’s Eclipse champion sprinter Speightstown broke her maiden by 6½ lengths at Belmont before the Frizette.
Completing the field for the Old Hat are Edward P. Evans’ Casanova Move, Alan Garcia; Buongiomo A. Tutti Stable’s Sweet Repent, Javier Castellano, and Ed Edelberg’s Honchis’n Ponchis, Julien Leparoux.
