The owner of the winning ticket played singles in three of the six races. In the second leg of the Rainbow 6, won by Smokin Ali who returned $153.80, the owner of the ticket played only two horses. The winning ticket had three horses in the last leg, but not the 2-1 favorite Power Emblem, who finished second by a half length. The winner of the final leg of the Rainbow 6, Master Achievement, returned $18.

The ticket, the largest Rainbow 6 payout in Gulfstream history, was purchased in Las Vegas. The largest previous payoff was $414,166.52 on January 8 of this year.
The last time the Rainbow 6 was hit was on Feb. 20 when one unique ticket returned $172,752.70.
The innovative 10-cent Rainbow 6 wager, introduced in 2011 at Gulfstream, requires a bettor to pick the winners of the last six races on the program. The jackpot is only paid out when there is one unique ticket with all six winners. The carryover built last winter to $5.1 million.
Gulfstream resumes racing Thursday, April 5. There will be a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 on Saturday, April 7. Gulfstream’s closing day of live racing will be Sunday, April 8.
