Lexington, KY (November 11, 2008) – Concern Nacca, a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Hystericalady, brought a top bid of $450,000 at Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale on Tuesday.

Tasuku Tsuji purchased the eight-year-old daughter of Concern, in foal to Horse of the Year Invasor (ARG). She was consigned by Niknar Farm LLC, agent.

WinStar Racing, agent, was the day’s leading consignor, selling 19 horses for $1,208,000, including five of the session’s highest prices.

Among the WinStar consigned horses, sold as racing or stallion prospects, were: Pool Play, a three-year-old colt by Silver Deputy, purchased by Bill Farish for $180,000; Fine Flyer, a four-year-old son of Fusaichi Pegasus and a half-brother to Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Keeper Hill, which sold for $165,000 to Samantha Will, on behalf of David Will; and Lunar Humor, a three-year-old colt by Distorted Humor out of Argentine graded stakes winner Luna Real (ARG), bought by Gayle VanLeer for $155,000.

On Tuesday, Keeneland sold 232 horses for $5,395,500, down 34.2 percent from the corresponding session in 2007 when 268 horses brought $8,200,300. Average was down 24 percent from $30,598 to $23,256. The median of $15,000 was down 33.3 percent from last year’s $22,500.

Through day nine of the sale, a total of 1,821 horses have been sold for $173,294,800, down 46.1 percent from last year’s $321,774,400 when 2,141 horses sold. The average of $95,165 was down 36.7 percent from $150,292 in 2007, while the median of $43,000 was down 33.8 percent from last year’s $65,000.
