ALBANY -- Hall of Fame jockey Russell Baze teamed up with Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer to win back-to-back races Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.

The longtime dynamic duo of Northern California horse racing won the fifth race with Rica’s Ready ($6.60) and the sixth race with Rocksprings Texas ($4.40). The Daily Double covering the fifth and sixth races returned $12.80.

Jockey Juan Hernandez also won consecutive races, taking the second and third events with Devoted Magic ($5.20) and Storm Magic ($6.60), respectively. The Hernandez Daily Double paid $29.40.

Jockey Kerwin John had bookend victories on the nine-race program. John won the first race with Alias Michael ($7.40) and the ninth with All Squared Away ($9.20).

Trainer William E. Morey also had a two-win Sunday afternoon as he captured the fourth race with Go Baroque ($17.60) and eighth with Risky Allure ($24.60).

Jockey Pedro Flores sustained a fractured right collarbone and bruising to his lower back in a spill in the fifth race. Flores went down when his mount, T's Mountain, clipped the heels of Haylescupcakebake in midstretch and fell.

Flores was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland for X-rays. Jockey David Essman was also unseated when his mount, Come Next Monday, ran into T's Mountain. Essman was uninjured. Both horses quickly scrambled to their feet, ran off and appeared unscathed.

Racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Thursday. Post time for the eight-race card is 12:45 p.m.
